No Books Went to press this week.

The Following Galleys went out this week:

THE MURDER OF SECRETARY JUDD CANE: Adventures on Capitol Hill Series, Vol. 2

Work began or continued on the following:

GUIDING SPIRIT: A Ghostly Love Story, by Robert Kanehl

Love does not end with death or at the gravesite. It lingers in this world, as powerful after death as before. Ashley Dunlap and David Paine discover this first hand, as a benevolent spirit guides their lives toward its desires. Will the two follow this spirit’s pathway or rebel against its power to follow their own free will?
This spirit of a murdered family member hovers over the young couple, providing timely nudges and direct pushes toward chance meetings and shared experiences. Her influence twists and turns their earthbound lives into a series of meetings and departures until the helix of their family history finally completes its cycle.

WENDELL & TYLER: ON THE ROAD! Open Road Series, Vol. 2, by James R. Kincaid.
Two fairly naive new adults, Wendell & Tyler, continue their cross-country journey  in a luxury Motor Home they plan to deliver in Carolina -- if they can get it there.  This time they visit Rosswell, take a side-trip to Mexico, where they meet  a young lady occupied in an old profession, and then on into the Mountains of Colorado... Come on, join them, it'll be fun!

Jack's News!

  by your bookstore cat,
and gossip columnist!

It sure has been a dull week around here.  No authors sent me any news at all.  I know things get kinda dull after the holidays, but with more than 200 of you, somebody must be doing something... C'mon! Launch Parties? Book signings?? Reading stories at the Library? I'd even settle for news of how much snow y'all are shoveling...
AND there's nothing much to do here either. Nobody wanted to play. Not even my baby sister, Spunky.  I think maybe she has a toothache.  She never SAYS anythng about them, but when she gets one, she doesn't want to eat much and her eyes get a little red and  runny.
Last time she went to the  vet for that, Roger had to pay $386 for them to pull three teeth. The vet said she had "bad tooth genes" whatever that means.

Anyway, Roger has been feeling pretty sick himself, so he didn't even play the guitar any this week. No music at all. The tests came back and he has six new doses of meds, on top of all the usual ones.  I'm glad I don't go to HIS vet!
Arline has been cranky all week, too.  She's been downloading data from the sales sites so she can do the spreadsheets and start work on who has sold what and how much everyone gets paid. Sales always suck in the holiday season, because everyone spends money on gifts, not on buying books to read.
On top of everything else, her old laptop died --- the one that lives by her easy chair! Roger just shrugged and told her to get a new one, and Happy Birthday Early! So it's on order and coming soon, from Amazon.com.  He expected her to shut up about it, but she's still full of gripes. Muttering about "loading all that software," and "Learning Windows 10:" and  so on.  Wouldn't you think she'd be grateful???   No, not her! All she does is b-----!
"Ouch!  NO! I will not get down. You don't even like this chair! Raaooolllffff!"
Meanwhile this computer is still working in the office, so personally I think she'd rather complain than work.  She goes on and on about the chair in here "killing her back," which I know is a load of bull. It's a perfectly Good black leather office chair that Pop Pop gave her as a birthday present in 2007.
Okay, so the arms are a little chewed, and the top of the back has some claw marks on it, where I hang on if she swivels, or gets up quick... But all it really needs is a little duct tape and it'll be good as new. Sure, it rocks a bit and if I run real hard and land on the seat, it skids all the way across the room.
But it's got a Perfectly Comfortable seat. It never hurts MY back a bit. And I sleep in it all the time!

Please don't forget to let me know
what you are all up to, so I'll have Gossip for my column next week!

Just send arline@mail.com a message with

 "News for Jack"

in the subject line, and

I'll make sure it shows up right here.
