Mock Barbecue Chicken - recipe

Maggie Dix’s Mock Barbecued Chicken

½ to 1 whole chicken
cut in parts
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ cup brown sugar
3 tbsp. butter (or lite margarine)
1/4 cup broth
1 tsp. smoke flavoring

Place chicken pieces in a greased baking pan with broth and smoke flavoring. Sprinkle with condiments and sugar. Dot with butter. Bake one hour in a slow oven (about 325-F or 163-C ).
