Brown Bear Brownies recipe

The Topp family - Jim, his wife Mary, and teenage son Rocky - lived on the farm at the lower end of the valley. The roaming elk foraging for food didn’’t really bother the Topp family all that much, except when they had to occasionally chase one or two out of their vegetable garden, or the small corn patch the Topps would plant each year. But what followed the elk down from the mountains, shadowing the animals’ movements did...

Brown Bear Brownies

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prepare Brownie Mix as directed. Thoroughly mix pumpkin into brownie mix. (easiest with a wooden spoon).
     
  2. Pour into greased/Pam'ed 9x9 pan.
  3. Warm peanut butter in microwave. 30 seconds or so. Stir.
  4. Pour/drizzle on top of brownie. Swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. (you can "feel" when done -- it firms up,check middle).
     
  6. If you double use a 9x13 pan and bake 45 minutes.
     
  7. Cool on counter.
  8. Cover with foil and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  9. Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
