Catching UP!

Books that went to press, or back to press this week:

MOONLIT BAY, by Elena Bowman

What is in an abandoned building on an uninhabited Island across Moonlit Bay that has been surreptitiously invaded by armed, unidentified entities who are helmeted, dressed in black survival suits and armed with laser guns?

THE STORYBOOK,
by Elena D. Bowman

Who hasn’t marveled at the sight of a child nestled in his or her grandparents arms as the reader takes that child into the kingdom of tigers, and dragons and bears, oh my! Watching as their grandchild’s eyes light up, drifting off into the domain of far away places, to distant parts of an exotic world, to the bottom of the sea,  and even to the far reaches of space.

EXIT PLANS, by Terry L. White

What happens when a group of senior citizens decide to manage the way they are treated at the end of their long and useful lives? Will they go along with the state of the art status quo – or find new reasons to get up on Thursday mornings to discuss their possible fates?

No Galleys went out or went out this Week:

Mostly this week, I have been working on getting our SmashWords account up to date with all the new titles released since last fall, especially those that need revision since Shelley had left. Had to learn a lot of new stuff, not easy for an old dog like me. But hopefully things will go smoothly forward once we are all caught up.

Since May 30, last year, Shelley devoted all her time to getting Smashwords up and running, and I made some (much needed) changes in scheduling, doing the print books first and making the e-book files from the corrected print galleys. Though you wouldn't suspect it, based on results, that is going much faster. On May 30th, last year, we had more than a year's worth of work scheduled for two people. I am one person.

Beaucoup apologies and Bushels of Thanks to those of you who have waited so patiently for me to catch everything up. It may not seem like it, but I am a lot closer than I was last fall, despite the accounting delays.  I promise to catch everything up to date as soon as possible.

Until or unless sales pick up, we will not be able to pay Shelley to help. Since her educational grant did not come through, she has taken a full time job that is keeping her pretty busy. Shelley says "HI!" to everyone. We still love her and she still loves all of you and will miss hearing from you.  You can "friend" her on Facebook, if you miss her too much.

Jack's News!

by your bookstore cat,  gossip columnist, and feline friend.

I have been a very quiet and good boy this week. Arline is very cranky when she is learning new stuff.  You'd think she'd just get over it!  After all, Shelley left her great directions so she shouldn't be confused. But then, confusion is her natural state.
