Ingredients

• 2 pounds new red potatoes


• 3 eggs
• 3/4 pound thick cut bacon
• 1/2 cup sliced black olives, drained

• 1/2 cup diced green scallions, divided
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 1 cup sour cream
• salt and pepper to taste

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Boil potatoes until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, cool and dice.
2. Place eggs in a medium saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and dice.
3. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain and crumble.
4. In a large bowl, mix together the potatoes, eggs, bacon, olives, 1/4 cup green onions, mayonnaise, sour cream, salt and pepper. Increase quantities of mayonnaise and sour cream as necessary to create desired consistency. Garnish with remaining green onions.

Nothing about his idyllic life in the small town of St. Clair, Wisconsin, has prepared him for Suzanne’s bad-assed buddies. She insists that one of the pair, her one-time lover and con man par excellence, is positively dead. If so, Wynn is left wondering who is threatening him with dire consequences. Somehow this dead man is now an alarmingly vigorous corpse, even though Suzanne insists he died months ago in Reno.

• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 cup frozen pearl onions
• 3 cups fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
• 1 cup fresh carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch coins
• 1 cup fresh snow peas, stemmed

• 1 cup frozen artichokes
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup frozen green peas
• 1/2 cup thinly sliced green scallion tops (snipping with scissors works well)
• Black pepper, to taste
• Add all ingredients to list

Directions

1. Heat butter in a large, deep saute pan over medium-high heat. Carefully add pearl onions; saute until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat. (Can be prepared to this point a couple of hours ahead.)
2. Add asparagus, carrots, snow peas, artichokes, salt and 1/2 cup water to pan. Return to high heat; cover and cook until vegetables start to steam. Steam, covered, until almost tender, about 5 minutes. Add peas; continue to steam until vegetables are just tender, about 1 minute longer. Stir in scallion tops, and season with pepper and more salt, if necessary. Serve immediately.

Author Robert Kanehl will be doing a book signing in Manchester, CT on April 18th. Sorry, I don't know the exact time and place yet.  Gee I'm glad we got this New Book finished! I hope the new one will be finished soon.

I do know that author Elizabeth Eagan-Cox, her Dear hubby and both her kitties are moving. Sure hope they got there all right and are getting the computer and writing room set up and ready to go.  All her Shannon Delaney Books are fun to read.  I just love ghost stories.

It's the first of the quarter, sp Arline will be working on the payroll soon.

The Judas tree is blooming in the front yard and it's so Biiiiigg this year -- must be 15 feet wide and 20 or 30 times as tall as me. I just love when that happens, because every little branch and twig is covered with blossoms and they're so PURPLE...well they look purple to me and Roger! Arline says he's color-blind and it's Magenta, whatever that is. 

I don't try to climb it any more -- not since the accident that time. But I love to sit in the window and let the sun shine on me and watch the bees. There are dozens of them I like to watch them buzzing from one blossom to another, but I know better than to try and catch them ... now!
